Corcoran opened its doors for business in 1990. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say “door,” as at the time the company consisted of one person, Tom Corcoran, working out of the spare bedroom in his suburban home.

Today, Corcoran has a team of 30 experienced trade show professionals who have produced more than 700 trade shows in industries ranging from beer to brain surgery.

Our approach has produced a history of outstanding client satisfaction, with average client tenure of 10 years. Our first client, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, has been one of our valued partners for all 29 years of our existence.

Tom Corcoran

Tom Corcoran is the Founder and President of Corcoran Expositions, Inc. He has been successfully producing trade shows for more than 40 years and is a recognized leader in the industry. As President, Tom is involved in all aspects of the company and uses his experience and expertise to develop solutions for our client’s shows.
Before establishing Corcoran in 1990, Tom served as Convention Director for the National Restaurant Association for 12 years. Tom has received the IAEE Pinnacle Award, presented by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events in recognition of extraordinary achievement in the exhibitions and events management field, and has been inducted into the University of Illinois’ Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago.

Dan Corcoran
Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Dan oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, including exhibit management, exhibit sales, show operations and show accounting. He is responsible for setting company goals, strategic planning and operational performance.
Dan joined Corcoran in 2009 and most recently served as Sales Director, where he hired, trained and managed a team of eight sales associates; oversaw sales of 1.1 million square feet of exhibit space valued at $35 million dollars; and developed a sales schedule covering 36 expositions.
Dan holds a Masters of Business Administration from DePaul University’s Kelstadt Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

Noreen Burke, CEM
Director of Business Development

As the Director of Business Development, Noreen drives the overall strategy for increasing Corcoran’s profile among prospective association clients and strengthening relationships with current and past clients. She plays an integral role in the on-boarding process for new clients, coordinating all details to ensure a seamless transition to Corcoran.
Noreen joined Corcoran in 2004 with 18 years experience in the exhibition industry. Prior to her role as Director of Business Development, Noreen served as Group Show Director and Exhibit Manager of the U.S. Green Building Council's Greenbuild Expo. Over the span of seven years, Noreen helped grow the show's net square footage by 335% and positioned Greenbuild as one of the fastest 50 growing trade shows in the United States.
Noreen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications from Columbia College Chicago.

Craig Boehmke
Group Account Director

As Group Account Director, Craig oversees a team of Exhibit Managers and their portfolios of association trade shows. Additionally, he consults with clients on strategic planning and budget forecasting for future years. Craig also serves as Director of Operations, providing logistical support pre-show and on-site to our clients.
Craig has been with Corcoran since 1996 and previously served as Exhibit Manager and Sales Department supervisor. Before joining Corcoran, Craig was an Account Executive at Freeman responsible for managing two hotel properties and the sales, production and on-site operations of approximately 30 shows a year.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Northern Illinois University.

Carly Di Vito
Group Account Director

As Group Account Director, Carly provides trade show oversight and strategic planning to the portfolio of shows managed by her team of Exhibit Managers.
Carly joined Corcoran in 2006 and previously served as Exhibit Manager for national trade shows in the healthcare, libraries, scientific and transportation sectors, including ITS America, named one of the Top 250 U.S. Trade Shows of 2018 by Trade Show News Network (TSNN).
Carly holds a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BBA in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago.

Mary Michalik
Sponsorship Director

In her role as Sponsorship Director, Mary develops and executes comprehensive sponsorship programs for many of our clients, finding innovative solutions to increase revenue, strengthen relationships with vendors and enhance the conference experience for members. Additionally, Mary oversees the Sponsorship Sales Department focused exclusively on marketing our client's sponsorship programs.
Mary joined Corcoran in 2007 with more than 10 years of experience in the meeting planning industry, organizing and managing trade shows, sponsorship programs and special events for nonprofit organizations.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
